Gatorade has declared that it has formally detached its approval ties with Tiger Woods. In a statement, the company thought, “We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship. However, our partnership with the Tiger Woods Foundation will continue. We wish him all the best.”
Gatorade is the third sponsor to drop Woods since the scandal adjacent his extramarital relationships became public. Accenture PLC, a worldwide consulting firm and AT&T also ended their sponsorship agreements with the golfer. Gillette and Tag Heuer have both maintained their sponsorships but, according to the Wall Street Journal, have distanced themselves from Woods since the scandal.
