AriyaJutanugarn  escorted the first women'sOlympic golf event since 1900 after a six-under-par 65 in the opening round at Rio 2016.

Thailand's Jutanugarn, 20, the British Open champion, is one shot prior to South Korean pair Inbee Park - a seven-time major winner - and Sei-young Kim.

British number one Charley Hull is three shots off the guide, and team-mate Catriona Matthew is level par.


New Zealand's Lydia Ko, the adolescent world number one, carded a 69.

Rio Olympics 2016: Great Britain's women achieve their first hockey final

Great Britain assured one more Olympic medal as the women's hockey team reached their first final with a terrific 3-0 wins over New Zealand in Rio.

Alex Danson's double and Helen Richardson-Walsh's penalty stroke mean GB will win at least silver, improving on their bronze at London 2012.

USA Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte detained in Brazil

USA swimmer Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz  were with Ryan Lochte during the suspected theft in Rio got pulled off an airplane as they were trying to leave Brazil.

The USOC confirms to TMZSports ... Conger and Bentz were under arrest by authorities, but said it is silent gathering information as to find out accurately why?

Earlier on Tuesday, cops in Rio said they were doubtful of the swimmers' claim they were strip at gunpoint early Sunday morning. The USOC says cops went to the Olympic Village to interview Lochte and teammate James Feigen, but exposed they had already gone the country.
